In short
From rewarding those who fly most to giving every passenger a reason
The challenge
A miles model that leaves most people out
Traditional programs reward a minority who fly a lot and speak little to occasional passengers and younger generations.
The solution
A full program on a single platform
Ledger, coalition, missions, redemption, anti-fraud, API and frontends on one platform, integrated in real time with Sabre and live ahead of schedule.
The result
More than 2 million members
One million in the first year, above projections, and more than 2 million today in over 10 countries.
«We were looking to broaden the traditional logic of loyalty and deliver value from the very first moment, even to those who had not yet flown with SKY.»
Guillermo Pucciano · Loyalty Manager, SKY
Chapter 01The challenge
The program is worth a lot, but most passengers don’t feel recognized
For decades, frequent flyer programs worked the same way: fly, earn miles and redeem them for tickets. That model built some of the most profitable businesses in the industry, but it mostly rewards a minority who fly a lot and gives everyone else few reasons to concentrate their travel on one airline.
The program’s value keeps growing and the relationship with passengers doesn’t keep up. Younger travelers value benefits that solve something today, not just a distant reward.

Chapter 02The strategy
From miles to an ecosystem that goes with the passenger
SKY Airline operates in Chile and Peru, with flights to other markets in the region and to the United States. In 2024, amid international expansion, it created SKY Plus with one premise: benefits should start when a person joins, not after many flights.
That required something the market didn’t deliver in full: beyond the points engine, the traveler portal, the missions and the integration with partners who give and receive points. Qurable built it all on a single platform and the program launched ahead of schedule.

Chapter 03What we built
Twelve components on a single platform
For SKY Plus, Qurable didn’t deliver just a points engine: it built the full program on a single platform, from the ledger to the traveler portal. These are the components that run it today.
01Ledger
Points ledger
Every point is recorded as money in a double-entry ledger, with three accounts per traveler, expirations and real-time liability. History can’t be edited: an error is reversed with a compensating entry.
More than 70 partners in hospitality, dining, entertainment and airport services join via API or the partnerships module: they award SKY points, accept them as redemption or add their own benefits.
A direct, online connection with financial institutions: the bank credits SKY points to its customers or moves them up a program tier, and each operation is recorded instantly.
Each commercial partner that buys points has its own miles bucket: SKY sets the allocation, tracks in real time how much each one issued, and each partner’s cost is recorded in the ledger.
Travelers swap their points online with other programs in the ecosystem, at each brand’s rate. Each swap runs in real time and is recorded as a single operation in the ledger.
Missions by segments, routes or destinations, open to every tier and with their own points account, plus crediting for contests. They turn business goals into challenges passengers want to complete.
A dedicated anti-fraud service with device fingerprinting and account-network detection, plus ledger controls: velocity limits, idempotency and two-person approval. Qurable is ISO 27001 certified.
The whole operation is exposed through a REST API and webhooks. That is how the program connects to Sabre in real time and in both directions, and each partner integrates via API or the partnerships module.
Accrual per flight, segment-based missions, benefits segmented by market and bonuses, configured by the SKY team from the management console, with no new development.
Qurable built the program’s frontends: the portal where travelers see their points, tier and missions, and the console where SKY runs it, with white-label components in SKY’s brand.
Free, with benefits from sign-up and points when you fly
SKY Plus is free and delivers discounts, promotions and missions from sign-up. Points are credited when the person actually flies, not when they buy the ticket. Missions reward specific behaviors, such as an international trip, adding baggage or flying to certain regions, and are open to all members.
Tiers recognize a sustained relationship. Redeeming points never lowers the tier, and members can also move up through a partner, such as a financial institution.

Tier 1
Cobre
You join at sign-up: discounts, promotions and missions.
Tier 2
Oro
More benefits as the passenger keeps flying.
Tier 3
Platino
The highest benefits. Also reachable through a partner.
Behind the scenes, each traveler has three point accounts, so redeeming doesn’t affect the tier or the missions:
Account 1RedemptionThe points the traveler uses on tickets, seats, baggage and partners.
Account 2TierCumulative: defines whether the traveler is Cobre, Oro or Platino.
Account 3MissionsTracks progress on each challenge by segments or destinations.

Chapter 05The ecosystem
A program that lives off the plane, with more than 70 partners
On top of SKY Plus, Qurable integrated a network of more than 70 partners in hospitality, dining, entertainment and airport services. That makes the program part of the passenger’s day-to-day, between one flight and the next.
Award points
The partner rewards its own customers with SKY points.
Accept points
The passenger redeems SKY points at the partner.
Add benefits
The partner offers its discounts to program members.

“We were looking for a platform that was easy to adapt and that would allow us to grow. Qurable required few adjustments to implement the program and made it easier to connect with partners, as well as to manage benefits for each market.”
Guillermo Pucciano · Loyalty Manager, SKY
Chapter 06The integration
Connected to Sabre in real time, with no tickets left unissued
The program is connected in real time and in both directions with Sabre, the airline’s system, so tiers and benefits are the same across every channel.
That integration also eliminated the cases where payment went through but the ticket was never issued.

What the case leaves
Three keys for any airline
Open
Value from day one
Occasional travelers join when the benefit is immediate, not after piling up miles.
Activate
Missions and partners between flights
Missions turn routes, services and destinations into challenges, and partners multiply touchpoints between one flight and the next.
Integrate
Without replacing what works
Everything coexists with the airline’s systems, in real time and without disrupting operations.
